(Mary, Sammy, Pia)
I don't really know where to begin - so I will just begin from the things that happened over the weekend and expand as the stories find there way to center stage. Here we go - hang on - no promises on how the ride will turn out - but I figured it would be fun to share :
Over the winter months - we have remained holed in like bears. And I am sure my personality may reflect that of a bear - but GROWL to you too!!!! Anyway - my husband and I purchased insulation to make our home warmer for the winter months. This was installed over two extremely long weekends, making us appreciate the possibility of hiring cheap labor anytime we ever have another home project! The only bad news was the newly created hole in the ceiling of the babies room - which almost took out the boy. Yes - the dad almost took out the boy with the hole in the ceiling tragedy.
You see, his crib is located right under the "hole". However, it is safe to report that the boy is fine - he actually slept through the entire dramatic event - and we cleaned him up & cleared out the rubble. But, this leaves us a problem - we have a freakin' hole in the ceiling. Now, I love my husband, but he is Mr. Procrastination and this hole was made in December. (early December). It is now February 28 and I can calmly say the hole has been patched :) YEA ME! We found a brilliant way to patch the hole without any construction dust or actual manual labor - yes - Mrs. Procrastination figured out a way to do something "cool" and we did it - MIRRORS! But not just any Mirrors - we found this light plastic material that was mirrored on one side. We had a huge piece of it cut up into different shapes and we attached them to the ceiling.... AMAZINGLY COOL, YES?
So here is to the hopes that nothing falls down :) Marketable? I can hook you up! LOL. I do have to place all the blame of the hole on the house inspector! He found a loose beam in the attic - and while installing the insulation - my husband fixed this loose beam - in turn creating a large hole. Was not funny at the time - but when I look back - I have to chuckle. Here is to hopes that Sammy does not need therapy for fear of things falling on him! YIKES.
Be well - and I will post again soon.
Zoltan OUT.
